Bishop William BGK Harris

Bishop Dr. William BGK Harris was born on April 11, 1953, in Suakoko, Bong County Liberia, West Africa. He was named after the late Liberian President William R. Tolbert and his great-grandfather. His parents were Melville Harris, an agriculturist, and Josephine Caranda Harris, a registered nurse. He was the last of six children and was born when his parents were advanced in age. He is the founding pastor and Bishop of the International Christian Fellowship Ministries (ICF) of Atlanta. GA that was organized on October 5, 1986 in Tucker, Georgia. Today ICF celebrates 38 years of ministry with churches in Atlanta, GA, Lawrenceville, GA, and various
locations in the Republic of Liberia, with a membership of over 1,000, including people from West Africa, the United States, the Caribbean and other nations.

Bishop Harris was blessed with a large and loving family. In 1980 he married the love of his life Queeta Harris whom he met at Tuskegee University while obtaining his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. Together they raised seven children while settling in Atlanta; equipping
them to embody the foundations of the Christian faith, while also leading a growing ministry.

Bishop Harris was truly a servant leader at heart. He served the members of the church with grace and compassion while also becoming a unique pillar to the Liberian community in Atlanta and abroad. His unprecedented leadership was a beacon of refuge for many displaced African immigrants in the Atlanta area seeking spiritual guidance that spoke to their cultural context. He was a loving and devoted husband, a caring father to many, a brother, a friend, and a true definition of a good neighbor. Revered by many as a community activist, he still found time to author more than 20 religious and cultural books before his passing.
